Living prophecies, woven from your own signs

A prophecy in Oraclia isn't a fortune you read once. It lives on your shelf, it has a window, and it shifts as you bring new signs.

One thread, many signs

Each new sign is read against the prophecies closest to it. It can reinforce one, turn it, wake one that had closed or begin a new one. A prophecy wears a sigil with one star for each sign it was woven from, up to eight, joined in the order they came.

A window of manifestation

Oraclia's words say what may come, never exactly when. The when is set apart as two dates. Before the window it waits as upcoming; inside it, ongoing; after it you have three days of grace to give your word: it came true, or it did not. Whichever you say, the insight is the same.

The shelves: ongoing, upcoming, fulfilled, unfulfilled, expired and dismissed prophecies

Fate is fluid

When a prophecy never comes, Oraclia doesn't pretend it did. Destiny shifted; a path was altered. You can also turn one away before its window opens if you would rather not follow it. Prophecies guide; they never threaten.

Five rarities, five nights

Echo, Rumor, Story, Legend and Fable: a prophecy's rarity comes from the signs that wove it, and each has its own painted night. Any card can be shared as an image, sized for a story.

Questions about this rite

What is a living prophecy?

A time-bound reading of what may come, kept in your profile and reshaped by your new signs. It describes what to watch for and holds a window of two dates. It can be reinforced, modified, revived, fulfilled, left unfulfilled or dismissed.

Are prophecies real predictions?

No. Oraclia is for personal reflection and narrative entertainment, and its prophecies are symbolic guidance, not predictions of future events. You decide what they mean to you.

Can I share a prophecy?

Yes. Share turns the card to its face and hands it to your phone's share sheet as an image. It never includes the words you recorded.

One story

Every rite feeds the same prophecies

A rite in Oraclia is never a separate app. Your signs, cards, weeks and bonds are read together, so each one makes the others truer.
